What is an Informational Site?
An Informational Site, sometimes called a first-generation web site, is the easiest and quickest to build and implement. No services are sold directly from the site, but information about certain subjects or companies and their product line is provided, as well as a means of getting in touch with the owner of the site. This is a "quick and dirty " method of advertising your product without a lot of overhead, expensive hosting or complicated technology. The disadvantage is that you cannot sell product directly from this site, for security reasons. Yet it can provide an e-mail address and /or a phone and fax number, so interested customers can get in touch with you.
For some businesses an informational site is sufficient. For example, this is an informational site. I have no need for shopping carts or a secure site, as you cannot order a web site online to be delivered overnight with UPS. My business depends on communication with my clients, and while my business is online, I need to do my negotiations and consulting off-line most of the time.

What is an E-commerce site?
If you want to start a store on-line, and have your website handle all aspects of the sale, you will need an E-commerce-site.
Such a project would need to be planned well, especially when it is being put on a "host server", where one has limited access to the site. Needs have to be considered beforehand, and web space sought accordingly.
After that, you need to consider : do you want to go with a "ready-made " solution or with a custom -built site? Prices can vary greatly, as can looks.
What I aim to do is provide you with the options and the look you need, and I will quote the best prices for you. I consider it my obligation to start you off in the right manner, without breaches of security or outages, so you can run your business the way you want it: twenty- four hours a day.
I use a Linux Webserver for a host, and will provide you with an interface where you can administer your site yourself, or, for a small fee, I will maintain your site on a monthly basis.
